1991 Civic Wagon RT4WD stock offset is 40mm, double check as offset will usually be molded into the wheel, somewhere on the back spokes wheel should say ET40.
im not really familiar with this whole offset stuff...
what if i put a wheel with a lower or a higher offset number on my car?
what can be the maximum difference in percentage or something...
i just wanted to buy a 6x15 OZ ET 27 (tyres 195/50) for a real good price, but unfortunately the guy lives way too far just to drive there and check if they will fit or not.
could anyone give any information on this?
should i buy it unseen?

i found a booklet that came with the donor car i brought from Austria. It contains some drawings of the Honda wheels this car came with and it says the sizes are either 5Jx13 ET45 or 5Jx14.
I will post some pics of it if you guys are interested but my scanner just broke down so i have to ask my neighbor to help me out with this.
(and i did not forget about the storage box under the passenger seat... wish a day was 48 hours... )
Pacifier: what does 'as close as possible' mean in percentage? 5%? 10%?

Lower offset just means they will stick out farther and be more flush with the rest of the body.
Offset greatly effects the handling of your car and the lifetime of wheel bearings. I'd suggest sticking as close to stock as possible.
