Alignment shop blues

alright, so i went to the Honda dealer today to get an urgently need alignment done. they take it in, then call me an hour later to tell me they couldnt do anything. (fortunately, there was no charge...)

when i got there to pick up my car, the tech guy started to explain how it was impossible to get the little bolts on my camber kit (i have a Revo Technica front kit). and also that they couldnt adjust my front toe because the tie rods were angled up (since my car is lowered) and they ran out of adjustable area :| fine, i guess. they didnt even bother with my rears.

so, i guess.. what can i do lol. i figured i would set my own camber and just let them fuss with the toe. but that still leaves this problem. i have never heard of people having issues with their tierods on a lowered vehicle, but you never know i guess.

could i possibly install the tierods upside down? the tech guy was saying if there was a kit to do that it would greatly help, but i was thinking about just having them upside down.

what do you guys suggest? is that a possibility or am i just retarded. either way, i need to do something because my alignment is so jacked up right now (just installed new ball joints everywhere) that i cant drive it more then down the road.

My only suggestion, is don't give up looking for a shop to do this. Tools are key. And the 'eye ball' technique doesn't cut it for me personally.

If I know anything from my experiences with Honda, both in Washington and Arizona.... is the good mechanics move on to greener pastures. Honestly, I'm surprised they even took your car. The dealership in Tempe flat out told me they wouldn't look at my car because it was lowered. Thankfully, after a lot of searching the local forum, I found an excellent shop that actually specialized in aftermarket suspensions.

Good luck man. Hope your fortune allows for two cars

lol thanks man. i called up a place in Savannah that specializes in tuned Asian cars, but they became so good people with Ferrari's and such go there. anyway they laughed when i told them my story and said its no problem at all. the dude even recognized me over the phone, said he sees my car running around

made an appointment with them, they were booked till Monday :| story on hold till then lol

sounds pretty ridiculous to not be able to even set the toe on a lowered car...hmmm. And this was a dealership? Maybe they just gave you the the excuse because really they didn't want to work on it after they realized it or the Tech's don't know jack.

    This.

There is a great place here in Wisconsin called Big Bear Tire (shameless plug) which works on lowered/track cars and knows all the ins and outs of aligning a lowered car. You should find a shop who knows what they are doing, and what to look out for when aligning your lowered car. I think it's worth a trip or some hassle to get it done right.

You're probably OK unless you real over slammmed it.Here's my thinkin once the camber is set the toe should move back into a position to be adjustable.

i've had slammed cars and getting to the tierods was never a problem.Maybe they meant they couldn't align it cause all the dealer would have is stock specs on their alignment machine. If a journey man was working on it it wouldn't be worth it for him.He would have to get measurements and enter them in manually. They only get paid an hour of labor for a alignment.
