Click upon tapping brake pedal

This is kind of weird and I'm hoping someone may have an idea. So this past weekend, I put on my CRX wheels...different wheel/tire size. Went for a few mile drive and it drove great, but...

Upon braking, I started to notice a click that happens just once when I hit the brakes. Not like applying the brakes to slow it, just enough to compress it a little. Other details: sound is coming from right front side, almost sounds like under the dash or rear of engine compartment. When I'm driving for a bit without hitting the brakes, when I hit the brake the first time it's the loudest, I can take my foot off and do it again, and it will be less loud...and so on until I tap it a few times and it seems to dissipate. The sound is louder than like a relay click for something like the brake lights, and the sound dissipating doesn't seem to correlate with a relay.

Nothing replaced just before noticing this, but recent replacements have been front calipers, pads, rotors, all new fluid, rear drums. Again, the car drives fine...under full brake it doesn't pull or any weird noises.

Any ideas?

Brake pads are moving around in the caliper. Did you put the pad springs in when you did the front brakes.

what Jaker said. Also if your pads have shims, make sure they have some kind of brake lube between the pad and the shim. Actually all metal to metal contact points should have some kind of lubricant. It will help reduce excessive pad shifting and in turn reduce brake noise.

Ok, I guess that could be it. I did put the pad springs back in, and all contact points were lubed with brake noise lube. I did the brakes about a month ago, and it's weird that I would just now start to notice this...and I seem to notice every noise on the car.

Hmm...I guess I'll take the wheel off and do some inspecting this weekend.

It's been alooong while, but I think it's the brake springs.I remember doing a friends drum brakes and I think it clicked too.One of the springs was facing in not out.We figure it wouldn't matter that's why with drum brakes it's best to take a digital pic or do one side at a time.Everything has to go back exactly the same way.

Thanks but it's definitely coming from the right front.
