Who has the best aftermarket parts?

Hi Y'all!

I'm trying to buy all the parts for a timing belt job I'm planning on my 87 Honda Civic Wagon. I got the OEM timing belt and water pump, but the tensioner has been discontinued from Honda OEM. I've been looking around for a decent aftermarket replacement but can't quite decide. My first choice was Napa but they have to special order the part and charge me UPS shipping too (about $65 total). I am skeptical about CSK Kragen but they have a Gates brand one or a Beck Arnley one for about $47. Autozone has a Duralast brand one for $40.

If anyone knows the best aftermarket brand for Honda parts please post.

thanks in advance

OEM Honda is the best, you could take yours off and press the bearing out, and order a new bearing from a supplier based on the number stamped in the dust shield. Based on what is stamped on there, a supplier should be able to tell what company made it and what the specs are for that given parts number.

OR rockauto.com has the Gates brand one for $25

Put the code "35562452924343" with no quotes in the field "How did you hear about us" when you order and it will give you 5% off. They just sent me that code in an email this morning!

I have used parts from all those companies you quoted and have never had any problems with them. Sure OEM is the best but the others work.

Rockauto is a good company to buy from just watch the shipping since they ship from different locations. You can order three different items and pay shipping 3 different times.
