Crazy slapping sound in the bellhousing?

Okay, rebuilt a 95 civic block for my d15b2 wagovan. Runs fairly well, is still breaking in of course. However, I have this INSANE slapping sound coming from what sounds like my bellhousing. I would guess it is flywheel related but it is an auto tranny so it is more of a flex plate.

Took it to a mechanic around the block and he thinks it is internal but he isn't totally sure.

I refuse to believe it. I've heard all kinds of rod knocks and thats not it. Its more of a harsh slapping. I have been pounding it pretty hard and gone on some lengthy trips and Gertrude just won't die. I forgot to mention it only does it when it idles. The rpms drop to 500 and as soon as they do its starts knocking like a jahovas witness.

I bought a z6 swap with a manual tranny, so I will be selling this motor and trans. I would like to fix it so I don't have to be "that asshole" who screws someone out of a motor. It runs and drives awesome but that knocking would freak you out pretty good.

Any and all help figuring out what this could be is appreciated. Thank you!

Not in a Honda, but I've had several cracked flex plates in Chevies that made one heck of a racket. You'd definitely have to have the trans off the engine to see it though.
