Door checker loose from inside

My drivers side door checker has come loose from the inside of the fender supprt post. Is there a way to tighten it back up? It doesn't affect the way the door closes but it makes a pretty good thud when closing the door.

    That is meant to be welded in place on the A-Pillar... You should see the 2 spot welds...

    i think everyone and their mom has this problem.
    i welded mine back, but after 3 years it just broke again.

    Wow. I must suck at welding. I welded mine about 2 months ago before I started driving the car again, and I noticed on Monday that it was busted again.
