Can you still drive the car with a blown head gasket?

Depends how 'blown' it is lol
  • What he said. ^

Mine had a blown HG when I got it. I could drive it but it would burn coolant at highway speeds. around town it was fine.

I'm looking at a car, the guy said it has a blown head gasket and the car doesn't run, I want to know how serious the damage is and how much money I need to spend on it. I had a car needed h/g before, but I can still drive it, just keep checking and adding oil. Thanks for all your answers.

    There's your answer.

Be careful if you're buying a car that doesn't run with a blown head gasket. At least if you're looking to have something to drive soon with no problems... who knows how bad the damage is. Especially if it's to the point where it doesn't run.

Thanks. I know, but these RTAWDs are rare and very hard to find in my area, I hate to do an out of state vehicle inspection by the DMV.
