Getting screwed OH

so i figured id post this up. i posted awhile back looking for a 90-91 2wd well i thought my search was over...... i was wrong, i founnd a really nice blue 90 2wd about an hour away and talked the kid to letting me haveit for around 850 and it only had 100xxx original miles on it. i end up getting his number and talking to him for about a week asking all the usual questions and such. then out of no where he says well i have to talk to my mom and then continues to say well im not really looking to sell it rite away. i politely say well why did you post it on craigslist and tell me everything about it then to say you would take 900 to only tell me well i cant really sell it.

come to find out hes about 16 or so and its his only car and he uses it to drive to school and back. i dont understand why someone would post it for sale if he didnt want to sell it. i was so excited due to the fact ive alway wanted a wagon and i have had my ef hatch and a teg stolen from me. plus it doesnt help ive been layed off for 7 months and have a bab on the way. well in any case i wasnt sure if i should of posted this in the marketplace cuz i am still looking for one. i read a few posts on here that said alot of people just post a few times to be able to get into he market to buy stuff. well not me i really hope i find a wagon sooon.


any help is much appreciated and or any just randomness of the conversation about the topic

    i was one of those people talking to him. the kid's an idiot. he has to sell his CRX before he can sell the wagon. i called whackness on him and bought another one in lancaster. rusty but it works and it's been nice to me so far. good luck on the hunt man...these are hard to come by in clean condition.

    i do know someone that works at a honda dealership that's selling one that was "lightly tboned" and had a broken motor mount. i went to look at it for parts and almost bought it. fenders are clean but a little dented as usual. doors aren't bad at all. rust on rear quarters. i think he wants like 200ish if you're the type to take on a project it might be a decent starting point. i didn't get to look at the wreck dmage much but it didn't seem incredibly bad.

    I had something similar happen. I was dealing with this kid local to me to buy his wagon and I set up three meetings with him. Each time he didn't show up. After the third time he calls me 5 hours later and says I can drive 45 miles to meet up with him. I said no thanks. Then on the messageboard he bumps his post that it's for sale. So I post what's up. Then he says I was harassing him and stalking him. I said yeah okay buddy, good luck selling your car. A few days later he starts gloating that he sold it to his friend. I saw his friend's post in another thread bragging how cheap he got it. Haha I was prepared to give this guy full asking price.

    I have a feeling that the guy that bought it just crashed it and put it for sale on this messageboard. Seems pretty coincidental that all the facts fit.

    haha yeah the kid that was selling my hatch posted it in another thread on here and i saw it on craigslist and convinced him to separate it from the hatch he was trying to sell it with. i didn't really need two more cars. i was worried it'd get sketchy since it was craigslist, but everything went well. except he forgot to bring his key to his special "tuner lugs" he had on the wheels

    Fwiw I bought my car from a 17 year old kid and kinda got ripped on the deal. I'm really hesitant in buying from anyone under 30 at this point. :lol:

    yeah i know he still has it posted still, he has a crx and my cuz wants to buy that.he said he cant sell me the wagon till he sells the crx. we told him we wanted to pick them up on sat the 12th but hes just like all of a sudden stopped texting us. i dont know about some people

    I find myself looking at craigslist all the time trying to find a wagovan. I have only came across two in my area and both times I was screwed on them. The first one was about 2 hours away, I get there and its a total turd. It had "Light rust, its been por15'd" I get there, the whole quarter panel would of came off if I would of tugged on it just the slightest.

    The second one was pretty clean and I went and looked at it. When I told him I would take it, I went to the bank the next day and was going to meet up with him after work. He shoots me a text message and says "My grandpa wants to drive it, I'll let you know when he is done. Should only be a month or 2". I'm like WTF? lol...

    I buy a lot of stuff from craigslist, but man have I came across some characters!!!

    yeah man peopl lol....... where are you from? if you read up farther a guy who posted said he knows a guy with 1 for like 20 ish but needs some work.
