Can't describe how irked I'm with my wagon.(Hatch Prob)

After waiting weeks for parts to finish my wagon so I can sell it. The parts came today to repair the back hatch and they were all wrong. Right label wrong parts, the back part the latch bolts to is about 4 inches to short. The upper panel the latch bolts to is also wrong. And the sad part is I might just very well be screwed since I cut the these panesl off already. This really sucks I have a feeling the parts will be NLA when they try and reorder them. :x

I wish someone would steal my wagon.

Here are some more pictures. Not only is the panel to short on both sides, the latch also has nothing to bolt to. I'm not very happy at this point. :(

The latch is ok, I need to replace the panels it bolts to. Over the years with the old latch it bent the panel it bolted to beyond repair. See the black panel and how short it is the old panel went all the way across under the interior panel
  • What about cutting the missing section out of a junk yard car and welding it them in to fill up that gap on each side.

:? Where did you get that panel from :?:
They may have gave you a panel from a CRX or HB :|

    Update:

I found out the panel that i was given is for a different VIN cutoff date apparently sometime in 1989 Honda changed the inner sheet metal and started using the narrow one. The correct one is on order and I should have it in a week.

Now it begs the question: Why did Honda change the rear sheet metal that the latch bolts to? Even the side stiffners are different. The newer ones are longer to make up for the shorter bottom.

:) Glad I that helped. :| I quess it was changes after the first year model which caused a slight weight increase in '89.
