Burning oil and exhaust smell in cabin

I know I've been burning oil but ever since I hollowed out my cat, I've been getting a burning oil and exhaust smell in the cabin while driving. Opening up the windows causes more smell unless the right combo of open windows and varying degrees of open is attained. Will a hollowed out cat cause the smell and/or do I have a massive leak in my engine? I'm using up about a quart of oil every 300 miles or so and it seems tcat as soon as I add oil and then drive, it will start burning right away. Blueish smoke comes out the exhaust when shifting/downshifting. Again, thanks in advance!

I have the same symptom, and I narrowed it down to the gasket on my rear hatch not sealing corectly. It's a real pain in the ass to fix when you have a lock assembly that is only helping the issue.

Ya, I checked my rear hatch gasket and thought it looked pretty good. The rear bottom right corner of the hatch has rusted through but is on the outside part of the gasket so I don't think that's the problem. I may be wrong though. I'm going to double check all the seals, doors, hood etc. My next question is the burning oil.

What about a bad gasket between your hollow cat and the rear section of your exhaust, or some other exhaust leak under the cabin?

Jaker, we did replace the gaskets in front and behind the cat but thinking about it now, I don't remember buying and changing the one after the header or the one before the muffler, unless my dad did it. Thanks Jaker! That makes sense as it didn't smell (as bad) before we modified the cat.

Upon further inspection (via my nose and looking in the rearview mirror) my engine is smoking constantly with big puffs when pressing on the gas. My dad says to start looking for a new engine. My wife saysto start looking for a new car. I say 'I think I can fix it.' Constant smoke means bad rings, not just valve seals right? And bad rings means engine teardown right?
