Extra nipples on radiator? Can I connect together?

I got a new radiator from napa to put in my rt4wd wagon with a manual tranny. It took them a little while to find one they thought would work but they got it ordered for me and I picked it up a few weeks ago. Just pulled it out to look at it recently because I'm getting ready to put it in and I noticed it has two extra nipples on the bottom tank. I assume these are for an auto transmission or something of that nature. Can I just connect them together with a hose? I figure that might be a better way then trying to figure out a good way to plug them off without having them leak. Any thoughts?

Why would it leak if there is no fluid going to that part of the radiator? Cap it off or leave it open. All the radiators I bought had connections for the automatic tranny but they all went on manual cars. If it makes you feel better run the hose from one to the other to keep debris out of it but I wouldn't be to concerned about it.

If there is never any fluid going to them I'll just let them be. I was thinking the AT was all on the same cooling system so the coolant would have to be going to those ports somehow in order for it to cycle. Does the AT have it's own complete system just combined in the same radiator? Sorry if this is a dumb question I've never dealt with automatic transmissions and transmission coolers before.

Yeah the auto fluid would go through a different section so don't worry about it. Just cap them off, tape them off, or just leave them be. You will be fine.

I got a radiator from an acura @ Pick Your Part that had the same issue... I just let the tranny fluid drain out and ignored the bottom portion as I have a standard transmission. Everything else matched up, I paid 40 bucks for it.
