Can i run Coilover Sleeves with only the spring?

I have SH4 rear shocks with da lower control arms on my wagon and i put the coilovers to the lowest they can go and i have about 4 fingers of a gap.
Can i run just the coilover springs and remove the adjuster? Will that hopefully bring it level to the front?
the front is 2 fingers of gap and i want 2 fingers of gap in the back i dont want to cut the spring though. :oops:

    Yes, you can run just the short spring without the adjuster, or put wagon rear shocks back on and go lower.

    ill try just the spring first
    because my wagon lca and my rear shocks are like rust welded together :(
    thats why i replaced them.
