Driveline Grinding

I've searched with no results.

When launching (I use that term loosely), I should say accelerating, I hear grinding coming from under the shifter (i would assume thats coming from the driveline). It seems to only grind when I am in first gear and that makes me think its not the driveline but it very much sounds like its coming from under my floor boards.

Thanks guys I appreciate the help

    A good thing to do is to change the MTF.See if there's metal shavings in the old oil & the OEm MTF probably hasn't been changed in a while.Check this link for the BEST MTF to use:

    Try turning off the rear drive.If noise goes away you might have the transfer gear going out.

    Sorry, noob question, MTF=Man.Transaxle fluid? And how do I turn off the rear drive?

    MTF = Manual Transmission Fluid.

    RT4WD disengagement.

    Are you sure it not the exhaust pipe hitting the shift linkage? Check it out, its a common problem.

    I'm pretty sure that the shift linkage doesn't got under the car. When I took off the center console thing, the shift linkage went straight through the front of the fire wall,

    The RT4WD uses cable shift linkage and yes it runs through the firewall.
