Do I need a FICV?

I just swapped a 88 motor into a 1990 shell there the same except for two extra wire that go to the FICV my shell has a 1990 ECU that had the FICV but my engine does not. Do I need to get one and hook those two wires up or will I be okay going without one? Some say I do some say I don't........Does anyone know?

    i do not have it hooked up. when i did my MPFI swap i did have it hooked up, but eventually undid it because the idle would jump up and down. unhooking it fixed this problem and i have been running it like this for the past 3 years =)
