Ohhhh and quick question. So I have these center caps from my Element wheels, but they hang a little loose. Too loose to drive with honestly. What's something I could use to keep them fitting better? I was thinking a clear silicone but it won't handle the heat all that well.
Not sure what temps you're talking about but you can get high temp clear silicone in a big ol caulk tube for like $7 and it's good up to 500 degrees F. If your wheels are running that hot, well you have some other problem to deal with. Even just regular non high temp rated I've used for valve cover gaskets without any issues. You'd be more likely to melt the plastic than you would burn up the silicone. Give it a little squirt.
Few pics from messing around today. Got the center caps put in, changed the oil/air filter and a few other small things. Took it out and tried to see what my flex was like after the lift. The thing that made me the happiest is the approach angle is much better. The bank that I was pulling up was fairly steep and I had a good amount of clearance for the front bumper. Very happy with the lift. Got a few things in mind to take her higher yet still. :encouragement:
No huge updates, just some suspension tinkering here and there. Finally had enough rain to find a mud hole to jump into. Very please with how the wagon handled some very sloppy, soft mud. Got it bound up though backing out of a rut and lost an axle in the process. The axle boot was already split wide open and was clicking well before this. I've got a DA axle with a lifetime warrant to use, actually have it left over from a B swap I did in my old EF hatch.
But anyway here's one of the few pictures I took with some status mud on! She's got plenty of winter plans ahead, but for now I'll be putting the axle in this weekend and using it for inclement weather duties along with my Element.
How many miles have you put on since the lift? Any issues with CV joint failure? I wouldn't expect it with such a mild lift but just asking. I think that is a perfect lift for the wagon....interested myself.
I've got about 2200 miles on the lift now. I had a ripped boot before the lift and when I was doing a little messing around in the mud it finally gave way, which was to be expected. Other than that it's been golden, need to get an alignment still and not sure if I'm going to get the front upper control arm camber adjusters yet. Rides just as well as stock ever did.
Man I need to update this more often! Sub to me on Youtube to keep up to date on my wagon, trying to push out new content weekly or every two weeks. ZC has been in for just over a year now, been up and running with the lift and ZC all this summer/fall. Lot's of killer trips! Check out the last one with me and Abide at the Hot Springs Off Road Park here in Arkansas.
going over your build in more detail... how have you liked the DOHC ZC? noticable increase in power / performance? my A6 needs work and i've spent way too much time debating rebuilding the A6 or getting a ZC. curious to hear your thoughts... and your poor A6 -- that mud was DEEEEEEEEEEP (how the fug did y'all get back out of there)?

Thanks!
So the A6 always felt like a little monster, had torque everywhere I needed it and got me anywhere I needed to go. However, the ZC DOHC feels like the A6 +1, if that makes sense. It pulls very hard for a little NA, torque curve on the ole' butt dyno feels much better than other Hondas. I really enjoy the ZC so far, looking forward to turboing it in the next few months.
And yeah that mud was nasty deep lol, thankfully my dad was following me with his RZR S so he just hooked the winch up to the front and pulled it out. I'll be back for that mud hole soon. I will win this fight!
New video is live and loud! Just mainly a video about flipping the rear lower control arms on a lifted wagon to achieve a bit more of a bump in the rear.. Gigiddy.
