OEM stuff in the usual places, nothing aftermarket that I know of. I've yet to have the opportunity to compare the RT gears to B series gears, as it appears they are close to the same size.
Im being told gearsets for the rt tranny are now obsolete...hoping its just our local dealer being lazy. I have another friend checking with some of his enthuesist friends that have access to oem stuff seeing if any are stocked someplace by chance.
interesting on the b-series stuff. maybe Ill take a look at some of thier ratios. Have quite a few friends with donor b-series tranny/stuff laying around.
yep, been trollin around a little. trying to get my wagon going. job security has not been my friend the last few years, but got some money saved up. tranny parts is all thats really holding my project up at this point.
bought another wagon for rallyx, should probably make a thread eh? havent laughed that hard in a car since highschool.
Oh really? Im in need of complete 2nd and 3rd gearsets including sliders. im not a huge tranny guru, so if you need more clarification, let me know and Ill hit up my tranny man. If you had that stuff in good shape I would be a very happy camper Jaker. I was sofa king dumb to sell my spare tranny to Matt
I'll have a look. I'm 100% certain I have what you need. I think I have 4 complete trannies (more or less) including the one in the car. I just don't know for sure how good the condition is of the gears. Are you in a hurry?
at this point ive come to terms that it will not be done in time to run the car this season for points, so no. But this is the only thing thats keeping me from getting the car on the road, so the sooner the better. Like i said though, got others with thier feelers out there trying to find me parts, so if some surface, Ill be sure and let you know. Either way, i appreciate your time Jaker.
EDIT: My source just called and told me he has exhausted all his resources. So other than just replacing the tranny, your my shining star Jaker, lol. So whenever you have time to look at your pile of stuff, Id appreciate it. Im gonna take a look around and see if i can find a complete with low miles on it for a price i can muster.
Is there anyway to completely remove the SL-gear while I have one open?
I did exactly that on my build. You'll be left with 2 holes to plug up once you've done it. It'll be pretty obvious when you do the work. I also removed all the spider gears from the front diff (RWD) and this removed 14lbs of stuff from the over all weight of the tranny.
First off all let me apologize for bringing an old thread back up.
I am digging the forum for information, I am currently converting a CRX to rt4wd using a Civic Shuttle as donor.
I have the goal of making the front and rear to have LSD.
For the front I believe there is no research yet by the community, but there's a commercial solution called Phantom Grip? Am I correct?
For the rear, Jaker has installed a OBX LSD. I cannot find the link for the thread can anyone provide it, thanks.
Last but not least, what seems to be the torque limit on the 4wd system? I am looking forward to build a 300hp 300nm+ trackday car.
For the rear you need to use an OBX from a d-series tranny. you will need to have the ring gear machined so that the bolts can pass through the ring gear instead of threading into it. as for the HP... it could have 200hp and brake it just depends on how you drive it. vipryan has about 360hp and its holding up after many launches and trips down the strip.

I will be watching this thread, hopefully it turns out some good info for some of the guys trying to make big power on their RT's.

This is true!! never broke any drive train parts!
wow i may have to consider that one. thats the cheapest option and i bet it would be alot better than a open diff..
let me know if anyone has exp with a phantom locker. good or a bad idea?
If so I can source the 2nd gear and 1-2 hub/synchro set.
