Love the Fender Flares! Where can i find some similar? These are nice and Subtle!

All i can find is 3" wide Ricer Style :(

What tires are those at $119 a piece? I'm also trying to get my little project together.

Not for sure. I called the tire shop I used to work at looking for the biggest 14" mud grip they could get me. I think he said it was a maxxis Lt mud grip. Tirerack has one but its an all terrain in a 27x8.50-14 @ $107

After taking scrappy for some test drives we realized that the fender flares were too low and would be ripped off after a few fun days so we cut the fenders up higher and remounted the flares so there is a full 11 inches of fender gap.

I'm liking the hogged out wheelwells on the swampers. Looks like it means business.

I know well the areas you guys have to be fighting with. I 'm curious to see your solutions. I had a little more room to play with because of the body lift.

Well, I'm pretty sure these Accord spring only have a spring rate of like 160lbs. right? so they are very soft, but very tall.
the wheel travels up and skims the top of the fender arch which is cut out (as you can see) over 10" from the top of the tire (fully extended)
here is a shot of the measurement of the wheel at full extension w/ fender flare, (still over 10")..
(I will try to grab a shot of the front compressed, but I have only been able to do that over bumps at higher speeds, [20-30 mph])
    999.jpg

So as this picture displays, we are traveling the front tire 10"+...

and here is the rear wheel stuffed. Now thats hella flush, 4 by 4 fitment.

How hard is it to get Scrappy moving with the new wheels and tires?

Not hard at all :) I was extremely surprised. Still drives like a Civic in nearly every way..
the gears are long now, and hasn't hindered Scrappy's acceleration.
it works out great because you spend most your time in SL, 1st or 2nd if your offroad anyway.
Having SL be that tiny bit taller is a great advantage.

ok so its a long shot but i found these .... remember i got them to raise Odie up to put stop the front end from making then noise but some one wouldnt have no parts of raising up noting ... LOL
    1.jpg?v=1
    2.jpg?v=1

they could stop the front of Scrappy front dipping ...???? or u dont think..>?
  • ChaifeChaife Instagram grand master
hmmm that just may help us. I'll do my homework and try to find out what spring rate those are.. I've got the front all clear now...
But after loading Scrappy with a small percentage of his "external weight", the rear is sagging.. :l
maybe these springs end up in the rear, I need something a bit more stiff I think. I'll get as much done with Scrappy as I can today and let you know what I decide.
Hopefully an update today.. my challenge last night was attempting to mount and secure the rear bumper skin, its proved tough as there are no longer any tabs or mounting points near the rear due to all the rust having robbed us of them..
  • I was wondering about that...I'm going to be doing basically what you guys did in the rear, and I wasn't sure how to mount the rear bumper lol.
  • super glue and duct tape!!!! lol
  • One off custom thin steel bushwacker type rear bumper with built in receiver hitch.

I see problems with clearance, adding all that load. Will the springs be able to keep you off the tires?
  • cusssttooommmm ssppprrriiinnngggssss!!!!!! :D
  • where did you get those window visors

This is what I kept thinking; just the basics are starting to load down the springs.

Well we got scrappy's "grill" back in his "mouf". We also got the hookup on a custom Motec wiring harness for the brush guard, full raychem wrap and custom Circletrackimports.com heat shrink... real racecar shit.
