if you're not boosted, 3 in. exhaust is too large. It will not apply enough back pressure. 2.5 is about as large as you want to go n/a and 2.25 would probably more suitable.

he is planning on turbo, i am pretty sure he has most of the parts, he was just getting the exhaust done and ready for boost.

yeah im still gathering parts on that turbo build ...

its got a 2 1/2 flex pipe, 2 1/2 Flow Master, tip is a stack from a dump truck think it was like 5 inches & welded to the muffler .. ( it was so loud i got stopped alot )

just had a shop add a 2 1/2 resonator to tone it down ....

hope to have d16a6 out and turbo fully built d16z6 n very soon ....

but im uploading some busted axle pix now .... Scrappy was a great pup drove n the garage on its own puppy power ....

    B right back ..

I'm planning the same :D keeping my a/c and power steering so 2.5" downpipe but i have a spare 3" from my s2k that i want to use. I will say 3" is perfectly fine on the 2.2 in the s though.

If thats a 5" i think a 4" will probably be perfectly fine. Shooting for a z6 as well.

What build is going into scrappy? vitaras or something forged?

How much back pressure do you need? After a properly tuned header, I do not see a need for more restriction. The exhaust is to get the gasses out from under the car and to quiet the sound.

Do you get better performance from a 2 1/2 exhaust the from a 3 inch?
