1986 Civic wagon carb
wrench
Band Wagon
Hello everyone and thanks in advance.
I am new here and new to Honda's swaps or mods as they call it, I have a 1986 Civic wagon FWD for my son, well with me being lazy and not changing the oil right away and letting him drive it we cracked the cam and messed up the cylinder head, searched around for a replacement motor and couldnt find anything under $800 bucks which is to steep for me, so we picked up a 1993 Civic LX 1.5 16 valve, fuel Injected, Im a mechanic by trade and was going swap the engine, trans and harness and make it fuel injected, tore the whole car apart and realized I will have a problem with the speed o, ours is cable driven and the 93 is a sensor, I think if I use a cluster from a 89 it should work, anyway we fixed up the 93 and is leaving the 86 for a project car, we want to put a DOHC motor or put a single cam and turbo in it, what works best ?, keep it auto, I know I will have axel problems because of how narrow the 86 is and have to relocate the engine mounts, what other problems will I run into besides mounts and axels ? Any advice is helpful, its a cool looking car and im thinking of looking for a wagon for myself once done with the sons.
Also does anyone know where to get parts for something this old.
1. 89 cluster
2. replacement body panel or patch panels
3. performance suspension parts. (has torsion bars in the front)

Well for an easy swap you can use an 86-87 integra motor which is twin cam and bolts in. As for making it fuel injected it can be a mess but I have seen it done using a wrecked 86 si crx. An 89 cluster is still cable driven and wouldnt work, maybe someone sells a conversion but I hadnt seen one.
Agreed X 2
My youngest has big plans for it and what he want it to look like , I showed him the site and he just drooled over all the nice wagons you all have, when we get it started we will post a page.
again thanks.
