Forced Induction Page

I have searched but maybe I am doing something wrong... there is no forced induction section in this forum... what the heck.... I guess a lot of you guys and girls on here are into fuel economy but at the same time there is no thread to help those people out who want to blow there cars.... I know engine swaps are common but I have a RT and dont really want to swap and loose my AWD... so I could start a basic boost thread but I need permission and of course a blessing from a MODERATOR in order to do so. Is anyone else intrested in this???
DIY Turbo Wagon
PARTS LIST Start
1 turbo manifold... (preferably a log style one or an HF manifold . This will make alot more room than you think.)
2 Honda Oil feed line
3 Return Line. (I used 5/8in heater hose with a metal sleve so it wont colapse, but its best to buy a braided one)
4 New oil pan gasket and some red RTV
5 Turbo ( I got mine in a junkyard for free off a saab but I do belive you can use one off anything or buy a new one)
6 Universal Intercooler and piping kit (Im an ebay whore so thats where I got mine)
7 A half radiator out of a 93-98 civic
8 some sheet metal or something to make a bracket with for the radiator later.
9 A downpipe ( depending oon if you want to go internal or external wastegate you will need to have one made or buy one
for an external wastegate)
10 Injectors ( at least 390cc)
A. Injector clips if needed
11 A socketed ECU or have your stock ECU socketed
12 A chip. (mine cost $25 dont get your panties in a bunch)
13 Blow off valve or by pass valve recurculator
14 6" of vaccume hose
15 Wastegate if you use external on instead of an internal

Grey RTV is what you want, not Red...(...(jl56tc).. I used red but in any case you want very high temp stuff)
Intercooler can be an option but not a must unless you are going for some high boost. But it will help still.

If we had 30,000 users, we could probably break off a section for forced induction.
But we have 2,500 members lol
Feel free to see if this thread takes off. But remember, it is what YOU make of it. Don't complain later when nobody posts anything. Put something intelligent in this thread, so others can build from it.
I have both a turbocharged D16 and a supercharged DOHC ZC. Of course both are sitting outside the wagon but hopefully by the end of the summer I can have the DOHC ZC in the wagon.
Well there are a few options for more powerful engines that will swap right into your RT and retain the awd system. The awd just relies on the special transmission with extra output shaft. Look up "Wagon attack 2" on youtube and you will find a turbocharged RT with a D16Z6 vtec engine out of the 92-95 civic EXs. IIRC you can use any of the D-series engines with your RT gearbox. But I see what you're saying, I like the stock D16A6 engine and I don't want to swap to a different engine either. I have also heard it has the strongest bottom end of all of the D-series engines, should be good for turbocharging!
What kind of info are you looking for with this forced induction thread? Just input from other owners with turbocharged cars?
So lets try to get some info going here and add it to the first post as we go.
Using the HF manifold is definitely a good thing to know about, I never even considered boosting my car until I read about that.
What parts do you have for your turbo setup and what else do you need?

Someone should make a Write Up thread on how they installed their turbo kit. Pics of parts, installs, hard to see/reach areas, link to where they got the parts, brands and part numbers used, etc. Others can add on to it with their own pics of how they approached something differently.
ive been doing my own little bit of looking for a way of getting a few more horses out of my RT4wd and keeping my 6speed tranny ...
found a few low cost kits..
