i have driven a few of the new 09-10 fits. compared to the wagon, well, MY wagon... it is hella nicer hahahahah
its still slow though, but handles nice and s very agile in the city.
overall it is a very well rounded vehicle, and feels good.
more power would make it a winner. just my 2 cents.
i work at a body shop and we fix like 2 a month for tonkin gresham honda so i drive them alot... with that said... i feel like im driving a micro mini van. stick with the civic wagon!
we had one a a shop car for a while i loved it handled so nice around corners even with stock suspension and man when we upgraded to progress suspension got even better as for as power the skunk 2 exhaust helped
My friend has a first generation Fit that I have driven a few times. I thought it handled very well and is very spacious inside for such a small car. Very practical overall and great gas mileage. On the down side, I felt it was very under powered and the clutch pedal seemed too close to the brake pedal for me. Since the first time I drove it he has added Skunk2 pro-c coilovers, Progress rear sway bar, header, custom mandrel bent exhaust, and a carbon fiber air intake. I have to admit, the throttle response has improved noticeably and it revs so much smoother now. The car handles awesome too!
So does it feel underpowered compared to say, a 92 horsepower auto DX wagon?
My wife's stock DX wagon felt a little better than my friends stock Fit. I think the throttle by wire system adds to the poor throttle response on the Fit. After the mods were done on his Fit, it did significantly improve.
Yeah I hear you, but I want something new for use as a family vehicle. When we took my wagon for a family trip to visit her relatives for Christmas, the dizzy crapped out on the way back (100 miles from home). Who knows what else could happen on a 228,000 mile vehicle. If it's just me, it's alright, but I want something reliable for the 3 of us.
The new Ford Fiesta wagon looks pretty sweet too. It looks to be a direct competitor for the Fit.
I owned a 2009 Fit for a year. Loved the car...hated the payments. Drove good even after I lowered it. Couldn't stand the monthly
$$$ I had to give to honda...
I was asking about stock Fits. I sure as hell don't want to mod a brand new car and risk voiding the warranty. Would kind of suck to have a payment, but no warranty.
i have a 2008 honda fit (gd3)and it is basically a newer version of the wagon. But now i just bought an rt4wd and have to build a motor so i could do a side by side comparison later.

Yea I messed up and got the extended warranty too.. But if anything happens I'll just put it back to stock. I could never keep a car stock though, my girlfriend has a 09 yaris and I had to lower it..

but....its a Ford
Even if they did steal a bunch of Toyota engineers.... it's still a Ford
Daily I toy with the idea of getting a Fit. Don't be surprised if I sell my wagon this summer for one
