OEM roof rack max. load?

Sorry if this has been covered before, but my searches for "roof rack weight" and "roof rack capacity" yielded nothing.

I have a '91 RT4WD with what appears to be an OEM roof rack (there's no identifying marks on it at all). I can find absolutely nothing that tells me what the maximum load is on that thing. I intend to put a moped up there (~105 lbs.) for a trip to the Outer Banks, but wonder if it's safe.

There's at least one exterior pic in this thread http://www.hondacivicwagon.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=5210 if anyone wants to see what the rack looks like.

dude, i wouldnt put 100 lbs on there.. i have the OEM rack too and i cannot see it holding that much weight. prolly like 50-75 max.

(fwiw, my mothers Sienna van with a big-ass sturdy rack says 150 lbs max.. )

OK. I figured that if it could hold that much weight, it'd be right at the upper bounds of what it was capable of. It definitely doesn't look super-sturdy, but looks can be deceiving sometimes.

Looks like I'm getting a trailer hitch. :D

    Thanks!

Those USDM racks don't look as sturdy as the JDM/EDM ones. I wonder if the specs are written on them somewhere?

USDM racks are for decor only. i dont see how it would be usable in anything, except maybe one of those roof-top box things.. if they make one small enough lol or strapping a couple 2x4s on it. i have done that and it work alright.
