I contacted Cmerce the guy who makes the carbon fiber hoods for the wagon. I asked him if he would consider making CF vent visors. It was just a thought then you could paint them black or leave them cf. I'll keep u guys posted if/when he gets back to me.
Cmerce will do it, but whatever you send him he will have to keep to make the molds as they will be absorbed into the mold. When I last spoke to him this is what he told me. Cost was going to be a bit high I think for the average wagon owner but again they will be carbon fiber, and I think the price was going to be 200+.
i highly doubt anyone will sacrifice their window visors and then pay an additional 200+ for CF visors... if someone desides to pursue that route i will pay cost of the part and then $50 to who ever donated visors to help offset the cost for them.
Count me in for helping to get the shit rolling. Have you made contact with where to donate a pair. We can take this to PM (or leave it up in case anyone else wanted to help out) and git' r going. Have you cutup/molded plastic at all like this before?
Did anyone try to fit them from a different car? The fronts are 60€ at ClimAir, but the rear ones don't exist. I get it if we take a tape measure and measure random cars' rear windows, something fill fit.
Also, I will be with you guys for this group buy, but absolutely not for 200+ and CF.
So after I got them I realized that you can't just remake them they have to have the special clips that go in the window rubber also. If I get free time and random money I might try to make a set outta acrylic sedan ones, but probably not. Ill share my ideas about how to do it after I draw it out its hard to explain in words
So here is the sedan visors on a wagon (stole this pic)
you can see there only a couple inches shorter than the actual wagon visors. So I thought about splicing 2 sets together. Like this
the rear visors are easy it's just a straight cut add 2 inches and use a acrylic epoxy an. Maybe some backing strips. The front visor will be the toughest you are going to have to straight cut the visor and then almost pie cut the two filler pieces to make the lines match then they just have to be epoxied sanded and painted just to cover up the lines. That's my thoughts. Your opinion?
if you're gonna use epoxy...there's a better way depending on the material that is used for the original visors, its made by Weld On....number 25 and its used for acrylic...fills and glues without seams, basically its a seam, crack, hole filler that bonds chemically down to the atomic level so that you will have full adhesion and the chances of it cracking are non existent. I've used this product for acrylic aquariums with 100% success. please keep moving forward and let us know! I've thought about this myself, just no time as of late to follow through. Good luck!

This thread is for requesting.
There's another thread for retro-fitting.
