  • I don't know what you are looking to spend but I have a friend in Japan who owns an aftermarket parts shop. He has a set of used coilovers that cost him 2000 he is asking 1200 for the setup. It is a full set of RACE coilovers. Very high end stuff.

I bought a set of TEIN HA's that were 10months old for 500 shipped from the same guy. He can get other CRX coilovers if that is too pricey for you. Shipping takes a little while though maybe a couple of weeks.

Let me know and I can ask him if he has anything else.

Budget? That's the biggest factor in picking a suspension.

My 87 wagons suspension isn't real applicable here, but my CRX is a little more relative. My emphasis has always been on adjustability...to both dial in maximum performance, whatever the conditions, and to make it tolerable for street driving.

Ground Control Coilover Sleeves - adjustable height and I have multiple sets of springs with different spring rates that I can swap out if needed.

Adjustable shocks - I'm using KYB AGX and very happy. I prefer to have an externally adjustable shock that can be switched from hard to soft while still on the car. Koni Yellow/Sports and Tokico Illuminas are alternatives.

Bushings - By now most 88-91 cars suspension bushings are failing to some degree. Do something about this. I can't fully recommend doing a full polyurethane switch because I wasn't entirely pleased with mine. It is a little too rough and sometimes I have to chase away squeaks with some silicone goo. But it is economical and it does perform nicely.

Sway bars - Suspension Techniques. This really depends on what you're looking for but you can do both or just the rear.

Strut tower bars - They tighten the frame up with no side effects/compromises. I like the Neuspeed bars but the cheap Ebay alternatives work perfectly fine.

Don't forget some lightweight wheels and sticky tires.

koni yellow's w/ some ground controls. then you go out and get sway bars and rims/tires. and do not get bigger than 15" or else...

I was planning on running my 15" White Konig Heliums with some Toyo T1-S's.
