RT4WD Gear swap?

So I cant find this in the forums and it probably isn't necessary but, is it possible to swap the Final drive or gears from an SI trans or ZC trans into an RT?

    I have looked closely at this just a few days ago. The gears and the shafts from the RT4WD transmission are substantially different from the ones in the FWD D series L3 (88-91) transmissions. The countershaft and the mainshaft are a bunch longer in the RT4WD to make room for the SL gears, and the bearing sizes on 3rd, 4th and 5th gear on the mainshaft are larger diameter. I think the gears from a B series transmission might be the right size for the bearings of the mainshaft, but you'll only be able to change 3rd, 4th and 5th, as 1st and 2nd are an integral part (machined into the metal) of the mainshaft. The synchros are also larger in the RT4WD tranny.

    this might be worth a try for my commute :shock: ... still might need that reverse also.... since mine is making a little noise and fights when you and use it :oops:
