RallyX

Raced my first RallyX this past weekend, and it was a blast. I was one of very few Hondas out there, only one in the AWD class. Up against a handful of Subies, and one oldschool Audi, I ranked about in the middle in my class and overall. I'm pretty happy with it seeing as I surprised I made it with last minute brake repairs.

In order to not kill the bandwidth, I'll just post the ones of the wagon, the rest can be found here: http://s590.photobucket.com/albums/ss34 ... ?start=all

  • What engine is in that thing?
    (is it boosted?)
  • It's just a stock D16A6...everything is stock. I'm honestly surprised at the pep the thing's still got. Currently trying to work out a deal for a DOHC ZC, but not in a huge hurry as this thing moves ok for now.

Got another event the 28th...hope to make it to that one too. 8)

Man that is awesome..... and I guess your last minute brake repair held up great...
what kind of tires did you run for the event..???
  • A decent substitute for rally tires, and due to the frozen tundra we were racing on, I was running winter tires. Some older BFGoodrich Winter Slaloms and they did well.

And yup, the last minute wheel cylinder(s) replacement worked well...had to modify them to work with the drum. :)

In order to rally a wagon, you must own one first. ;)

It's nice, I wonder why they aren't any in my area (Montréal, Québec, Canada), I went to the ice lapping this winter and it was a blast too, next year I'll try to make the rally-x on ice at Ottawa but this year it was during my work shifts, but no mud/grass rally x :(.

And with the 4wd,studded tires and light weight, the old rt-4wd was doing great. On ice no need to power (just a small straight to pass people) so I was catching up many subbies. During winter I miss summer lapping, during summer I miss ice lapping :(

so in the owners manual, it says that even though these vehicles are 4wheels, they're not meant to be taken off road.... guess you showed honda..
