Good Wheel Bearing Brands?

I'm looking at replacing the front bearings in my 2wd wagon. I know I will be fine if I use the OEM Toyo Seiko or Koyo Seiko bearings, but I was wondering about using Beck/Arnley bearings. $75.44 (OEM) versus $56.89. While I'm down there, the lower balljoints are getting replaced with Moog.

You'll be fine with the aftermarket ones. Heck, I don't even know what brand I used on mine. I got 'm at Advance, and the box was red and blue...

You're welcome to my press if you need it. I bought it and a bearing separator just to do my fronts, and haven't used it since.

I was leaning towards the aftermarket ones. I figure they are probably better than the original 20 year old ones on it now. Surprisingly the front ones don't make noise, but I'd rather take care of them now. The right rear makes some noise sometimes especially when cold. I figure the rest probably aren't too far behind.

I have a dinky little press that's not big enough, so I was going to go to this local shop and get them pressed. Since you have a press that would be awesome, I'll have to get directions to your place. I just know your in Marietta somewhere, so PM me with your address. I won't be able to work on it until about March 13.

koyo i believed is the oe for most JDM cars. Timken is also a good brand since this company has been making bearings forever. kinda pricey though.

well at least you found what your looking for.

I've found bearings listed as "aftermarket" but were actually Koyo bearings on ebay before. They were on sale, clearence, and some on liquidation and got as low as 29$ a bearing. I would reccomend OEM bearings, but even just searching the net for aftermarket bearings that have Koyo in the name can get ya a better price on the same thing.
From what I've found with looking at EFs even ones at the local junkyard, the bearings are pretty durable, and usually something has to happen to the car for the bearings to die, its rare for them to take a crap just due to age. 188k on mine and kickin!
