  • i had this issue on my wagon last winter, mine would die while driving and not start back up with a code 15(igniter).
after a minute it would start back up and be on my way some times i would have to hit the dizzy to start it back up. well it died for good one day and had to have it towed. i go to replace the ignitor and i got the cap off the dizzy and it was just a loose wire on the igniter. pinched the blade connector and good as new and have been driving ever since. all the while i canceled the order on the part and got my money back. and this all happened on a Friday so im driving all weekend and come Monday i still get the igniter for FREE! moral: if it turns out it is the igniter i have one i can sell you for cheap! and its brand new in box!

Alright, I've been reading this thread over and over a few times and I thought of a few different scenarios. Remove the air intake tube and make sure you have nothing lodged in the air path to the throttle body. I know its a long shot but I actually had this happen on a customers car and it ended up being that the air filter was shredded and blocking the air path to the engine. If thats ok, then remove the ignition coil from the distributor housing and take a peek inside. If you see a bunch of shredded copper windings, then your crank pick up coil or TDC pick up coil are toast. If this is the case then you are better off replacing the whole distributor. Check these out and let us know.

Do yourself a favor and check the timing belt first before you start shotgunning parts at it.

Checked the timing belt its dead on...
Did you turn the motor over by hand and inspect the entire timing belt for missing teeth?

Well pull off your dizzy cap and have someone watch the rotor when your crank the engine. If it not movieng that could be and indcation that your cam snaped. a nother way to check its to have your valve cover off and the top cover to your timeing belt see if the cam gear is spinning when cranking.

That sounds like a bad ignition switch. You can remove the steering column plastic coverings then remove the electrical portion of the ignition switch from the tumbler section. Inspect the electrical contacts for burn marks. If you see burn marks replace the switch. It runs about 60 bux from your local Honda dealer.

So... I checked my spark plugs... #1 look good... but 2,3,and 4 had a lot of oil on them and were worse in the order (#4 was dripping oil) I'm thinking this isn't a good thing...

this happen to me on the freeway but didnt die. started sputtering. check compression and get a new valve cover gasket kit and new plugs and wires and your be good
