I wasn't angry, lol. I shoulda put the laughing face. Whoops.
Everyone just assumes I'm a guy, just cause - what's a girl doing with a car she cares deeply about? Not that there aren't any in the car scene, but it's quite rare I think.

Anyway - you! Thanks for the compliment dude.
lol, all good. but yeah not too many chicks in the scene that actually OWN a car that likes to do mods to them etc. Most of the ones I see are slutting around the scene haha i kid i kid.
bam > send me any notes you take while doing the auto/manual swap...be much appriciated...
car is going to be awesome after this weekend !
Will do. I've not done one before either, so I was a little apprehensive about that part, especially the wiring junk. Luckily, we've recruited another local EF junkie/professional tech. who is very familiar with it. I'll take lots o' pics.
It turns out that 1988 automatic wagons did NOT have the hole pre-punched for a clutch cable. MY friend Hoss was over last night helping me to pull the engine. He had assured me that the hole was already there, because he recently converted his '90 wagon. Well...I looked at the '90 auto shell here in the yard and sure enough, there it is.
As it turns out, it's not just the hole that's missing. There's also a bracket/tube on the inside. Here's the '90:
drilled out the welds and used a body saw to remove the needed support
Here's the '88, same shot
Bored a 3/4" hole, and slotted the hole for the stud- the pedal bracket bolts here, will clamp the slotted area
Here it is bolted up
On my swap, Revmaynard's, and Hoss's auto to dseries manual swap, we had to use the wagon clutch cable, so I made sure I had a wagon cable on hand. I can't tell you why just yet, but on this one we had to use a DA cable- wagon one was just too short :?

Engine has amazing compression and is very clean inside, so I have high hopes
New seals and gaskets, of course...

omg yes! All those "random" parts weren't for nothing. :P
Bam is the best.

nobody would have expected Honda to do this.
I commend you for your professional solution for this very strange problem.
Hey, you're good. I just went through your thread and I can see the plug. I posted there asking if it was an '89, in fact.
before that it was a big ol' crossmember notch.
and of course the shifter installation
tomorrow i'll have to fab up something to close up the holes in the floor. It will be tight, don't worry...i hate halfass.
Right now the exhaust is ...well...halfass. Just a scrapped-together 'test pipe' to get it to the exhaust shop
annnnd the money shot
i took another of my furlough days tomorrow(monday) and i'll try like hell to finish
It might take a few hours to fully propagate to all the servers.
I don't know if this is the problem with YOUR image hosting site, but if they pop up in a little while, it's probably what happened.
(I'm a programmer :P)
I'm gonna be doing something very similar here pretty quick, except for the nonsense with the lack of a clutch cable hole
Looks good man, in for final pics
Saturday:
it's empty!
and has no dash
We converted my car from auto to manual ... and it was not easy..
No hole
Hole
We needed this [which came of the parts wagon] too so the pedals wouldn't crush my firewall...
my ol' trusty d
the a/c bracket i got didn't fit the sanden compressor.. even though it was suppose too. Booooo. So no a/c for now... not that i need it, lol.
getting the transmission together.
here we go!
sunday:

And of course all the amazing wiring Bam did.
Thank you so much to Rev, Bam, and the other fellas that helped. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
