Help me find a picture, please?

If I knew what it was called, maybe I could find it myself!

There's a picture I've seen occasionally of a wagon/shuttle front clip with largeish round lights set into the grille area. The one in my head is a burgundy color, front cut of the car sitting in the back of a pickup truck. Is any of this ringing a bell? I think it was a non-usdm factory option?

    Yeah, that's the one. Thanks!

I don't want to buy one, but I do have some extra bumperage laying about...what diameter lights would you say those are?
  • I really like where this is going. Bam, please continue with your bumper-ectomy and may the surgery go well.

I'd say the inner lights are the size of a CD and the outer ring maybe another 1CM added to the radius.
  • cup D ?

How many candlepower is a CD? :P I have some 4" diameter tractor lights- too small I think. I'll have to go dig around the junkyard.

I'll just build a hybrid 8) My very favorite bumper treatment EVER was the Jersey Boys' before they changed up for the EF9s they're sporting now.
I'm thinking a cross between that and this look.
  • You should mount up some of the new MTB lights that are coming out lately. 3000 lumens LED setups. It'll save some gas, and the environment in the process.

There's a guy here in town that's been home-building some LED helmet lights- cool stuff. I'm going to keep using my Niterider HIDs as long as they still work!

Back on topic: I saw some 5" KC lights that are pretty flat in profile that look like they may work.

7" If you measure between the bottom of the radiator opening to the midpoint of the section above the rad.opening it's about 7".Isn't that about the size of one of those rally lites?
  • bam-bambam-bam Council Member
7" is the size of the old single round bulb sealed beams that used to come standard on everything. Too big I think for this application, but you've got me thinking about the smaller ones on 4-bulb cars, hmmm.

I went and looked up the old pics. I think my brain must have melded the image of their new bumpers with the old  What I like about the EF9 ones is the big open "mouth" grille, what I dont' care for is the wraparound lenses.

Bought some cheap 6" round lights today, did a little mockup

Looks pretty close to the size I was thinking

I may look for 5" ones. I'm not sure I want to cut those "eyebrows" like the real one, though I may clear out the grille opening and expand it up to the cooling slot.

That should look good. I like it already. Haha.
