Hey MrM3, I was wondering since our swaps are pretty similar, did you/we have to run this box that was mounted to the firewall with all the vacuums coming out of it, with the H/F-swap? Or is it specifically just for OBD0?
Oh wow idk what that even is lol. As far as I know you do not need to use it, from everything I have read about this swap I have never seen it mentioned.
Okay cool, I was looking around the site on other swaps, and most didn't use it. So I guess I can trash it. Haha. I just got my ACT H/D Clutch whoo! Haha.
Finally got the engine down in it last night! Still a lot of minor details to deal with but it feels good to get it in. The intake is coming back off so I can run the fuel lines and things like that but I put it on to check for clearance. I hadn't posted pics of the intake by itself but I will later on. It's a Euro R done by Rosko. If anyone is thinking of buying from him, I highly recommend it. Workmanship is amazing and he is a really cool guy. I'm so glad I dealt with him. On to the pics!
The Euro R manifold is like a half inch shorter than the stock one so it helped a ton with the firewall fitment.
I have about 2 1/2 inches ground clearance. I honestly want to get the car about a half inch closer to the ground but idk if that will happen.
I got some Ground Control top hats put on the front and rear last week too.
Hopefully the rest of my parts come in soon, I'm just waiting on the rest of the stuff so I can start it up.
mega!
this is going to be so awesome.
let us know how you like the SONEM when it's driving.
i noticed that you didn't modify the towers.
why?
I am also interested in how you like the Sonem kit. I may have missed it, but did you mention what clutch you will be running?
Sorry just saw this, it's an ACT clutch.
Nice progress shots! What specific ACT disc and pressure plate are you using? I am interested because I also am running an ACT clutch set up w/the Sonem kit and I want to know your thoughts on how it feels.
Here are some long overdue updates!! I don't have that many pics because I got lazy and when work was going on I forgot to stop and take them.
Rywire harness
Fuelab mini regulator with braided line and Russell fittings
Full-Race radiator and crossmember, Mishimoto fan
Ebay header
Hasport axles
Rear toe adjustment
Rear trailing arm bushings
I've done a ton of work just finishing things up that I didn't take pics of. But the good news is that it FINALLY RUNS!!! I still have some detail stuff to take care of but before too long it will be time to move on to the bodywork.
Thanks for all the encouraging words everyone! The firewall was modded just not to that extreme. I dented it in around the intake and throttle body a few inches.
2x's. I like that you started this build with the brakes, engine bay, motor, trans and drivetrain. All the most important aspects in building any car. Knocking out the tuff work first. Then u can focus on the exterior which will be less challenging. Well done MrM3! 8)
Great build man, I can't wait to see it finished.
I had an H22 EF Hatch. If I would have had my wagovan, I would have thrown it in there.
I'm glad someone had the same dream I had and actually threw theirs in there.
That's what I'm going to be doing probably again, this time to my wagon.
Keep up the good work man!

Here's how it sits right now
cant wait to see it complete.
Did you think about modding the firewall? A guy here in NZ put a H22a into his EF and cut the firewall to allow more clearance to the IM

Great work man. Can't wait to see this baby FINISHED!
