I LOOOOVE the Element. Want one pretty badly. I have three cars right now, so one would have to go if I pick one up. I can’t decide weather to get rid of the wagon or the Acura Legend if I get one. Probably get rid of the Legend.
As far as I have read, the idea behind the unpainted panels was for scratch resistance. The Element was a “lifestyle” vehicle, and I think Honda originally intended it to be sold to a “lifestyle” demographic. Hikers, snowboarders, surfers ect. You can park in the weeds and not scratch up the paint. That was my understanding anyway.
The steelies with the tires look beefy. Thank god someone else hates chrome as much as I do. There are VERY few vehicles that can pull off chrome without looking like crap. I cant think of a single Honda that does it.
i just won the auction on ebay for the springs the other day; they are supposed
to be shipped out today (saturday)... so some time this week they should be
here.... not sure when i will get around to installing them...
got the front windows tinted this last weekend... and its been snowing
pretty much ever since... it under 15 degrees out right now... the E is
dirty but handles like a monster in the snow...
pretty cool.
what is happening with the wagon?
sold it?
oh, and you should paint the gray panels black.
maybe with trim paint (it looks like they're plastic).
i sold ms. piggy a little bit ago... and i will use back to black on the
grey panels; its just polish, but it also gives it a way darker appearence
and protects...
just bought this; element SC wing
And after much research on door visorss OEM/weathertech/lund/AVS/in-channel/etc...
i decided on AVS and not to go OEM, because i wanted all 4 pieces- and i liked
the way the AVS ones looked on the element and that the rear door piece lets
you still open the rear window...

Hows the factory stereo in that thing?
(I'm assuming you have the 4 speaker set up and not the 7)
I still think I might pick up one of these in a few months for a DD
yeah 4 speaker setup... no real plans for interior- but ya never know,
maybe just a 10"sub and i may carpet it this summer..
you should tint; i cant stand a car without tinted windows...
Got a sweet vaccum you can borrow...
