I think there is a tab or something that makes the sockets slightly different. I would suggest just going to the junk yard, finding some low beam sockets, and wiring those in, instead of the high beam sockets.
I know that you can make a high beam bulb fit in a low beam socket. Not sure about vice versa.
I remember the high beam bulb has an extra tab that needs to be removed or whatever.
yeah you can i did the excact same thing your asking about.
just get a hot knife or stanley blade and cut the plastic bumps inside the socket and it should fit up right if not
cut around the bottom part of the metal where the bulb connects
if you need refrence just compare to a regular high beam bulb cant go wrong
