Check out my new flares below and a write up on how to install. Now I just need some low offset wheels and I'm set!
I'll gladly tell you how I did it:
* Ordered a set of used 1990 Jetta GLI flares from a guy on a VW forum ($60)....
* Test fit everything and marked off what needed to be trimmed, surprisingly not so much.
* Using a utility knife and about 2 hours of careful trimming I got them to fit flush all around.
* Now it's time to attach them them to the car. This part is actually quite simple but it helps to have a buddy (or tape, like I used) to help hold everything in place while you're working.
* Line everything up, drill a small hole through the lip of the fender flares and into the inner fender lip and also the front/rear bumpers of the car.
* Now, using some #10 U-type Speed Nut Fastners slide them over the holes you just drilled and then use some #10 screws to fasten the flares to the fender lip/bumpers through the speed nuts.
There was a CRX on Ebay last week that had flares from a 90 VW Jetta on it that looked pretty good. He said it took some work with a dremmel to make them fit but they did look nice.
Anyone Know where to get wagon specific flares, or any flare that fits halfway decent on a wagon? I love the ones on the smurf wagon on the build board but if anyone has any good hacks, or suggestions it would be much appreciated! I keep looking at datsun 240 or 280 flares would fit nice, anyone ever try those??
For the most part they are 240sx Flares that have been trimmed up to fit. These I found to not need to much and I used them at first but went a different route. Check out Jaker's thread as he had them on his wagon as well.
240 flares..Thats what I was thought but I cant find a dang thing on ebay or anywhere beside those giant fiberglass widebody kits, did find one set of 240 ones but they where cf and 600 bucks..no gonna spend that to hack em up, but I will check that thread out for sure! thanks man!
Yeah it has been a few years since Jaker and I threw flares on our wagons. They were Nissan S13 Flares (89-94 240sx). You might want to check out some of the Nissan Forums and see if you can find a set floating around. Universal Fiberglass might be easier to find.

I've added it to the fender flare post, which is probably more appropriate than in this one.
