Damn, you made the stock steelies look amazing !! I was think'n of stealing this idea... hahahaha
  • jpciiijpciii familEE
go right ahead! that would be awesome.

I wire-brushed the wheels and painted them gloss black. The trim rings where $25 from ebay. Long chrome bling-bling lug nuts where $20 from ebay. The center caps are polished up. Makes for a decent looking budget setup. remember: 13 inch tires are cheap as hell, too.

Finally picked up a set of Michelin Energy 195/55/15 for 60 bucks and had them mounted and balanced for 5 bucks. Not a bad setup for 115 bucks. I would have better pics but the new camera isn't here yet.

I picked up a set of 13 inches steelies with the chrome-like inserts like jpciii for free. They came with snow tires on them, so I have to sell those and get new tires put on them before I start rocking them. They look like I big improvement over the stock wheels even just holding them up to the car. Plus, the wheels I picked up are a little wider, so I can fit some wider meats on them when I do. :D

I just picked these up for free. I of course had to refinish the wheels because they were completely black with corrosion. Paint stripper, black enamel, and a sander. Not bad for nothing. I LOVE FREE. They are 15x7 with a pretty nice lip. I am thinking of putting these on my wagon to replace the 15x6 BBS. I will hopefully be buying some 9x16's soon with a staggered offset. Those might also look good on the wagon. :D

the CF-48 is pretty much my favorite wheel of all time; comes of growing up in the 1980's, i think.

a set of 15" in black or white (with caps & covers, of course) is my own personal Holy Grail. white, especially.

yea i have a set of BBS and 91 SI crx wheels and hada set of GALE SPEED wheels also got a set of 13in. CF48s just chillin brand new in the box but im lookin to get a few more sets im looking at some LOVER SOULS and SSR RS8
  • My wagon is low man in the automotive budget hiearchy...it gets mostly leftovers from the CRX. I had been running 90-93 Miata wheels on the CRX for a couple years. Mostly because they're ultralight and cheap. I like them so much, I got a set of even lighter 94-97 Miata rims.
The 90-93 rims needed a new home. The wagon was the logical decision.
I stripped them and powdercoated them myself.
