Exhaust Q

I wanted to go with a 2.5 stock oval style muffler, any personal opinions on a good one? I've been on ebay, but I wanted to get an idea of tone/sound for any you guys may be using.

  • I got a 2.5 cat back with a flowmaster muffler and it sounds very good. The only oval type I have had sound decent is the Apexi Dunk but they stopped making that years ago. I have also heard good things about tunabe medallion systems. I hope this helps.
  • I bought one from Summit. It is their brand and it is pretty nice for 89 bucks. I was going to go with a name brand until I saw that Summit had their own. I don't have it on my wagon yet, but I am going to same route as you are. I am also adding a 2.5 high flow cat and a resonator to hopefully bring the tone down a bit.
  • My experience over the years has been that the Flowmster has a relly nice sound, for the first year or so until all the fibergalss mating inside compacts, and then it gets really loud and obnoxious. I've been using the Magnaflow mufflers for the last 5-6 years and they don't seem to suffer the same issues.

Thanks for the input guys! I'm going to check into the few mentioned. Bam-bam offered a dynomax to me he got outta the junkyard, but it's a 2.25 and everything else is going to be 2.5 so now that I've got a job I'd like to get everything juuuuust right. :D
  • On my last wagon I had a magnaflow XL. Its a lower end model, but sounded real nice.
