Hello From Bellevue, WA
Hello, all. I'm surprised to discover this forum, checking around the internet to find info on civic wagons. I have an '85 that I bought new and have been driving all these years. It's been through a few little accidents, but I thought I would drive it til it dropped. I like it, it suits me for my purposes, and I've kept it serviced regularly, even though I keep getting warnings from the service dept that replacement parts (like hoses which are beginning to leak) are going to be difficult to find and expensive. But last weekend on a rained city street I had to put my brakes on suddenly and I hydroplaned into the back of an SUV. The SUV suffered no damage, but my wagon's front bumper is now hanging down one side, I have a dent in the hood, the left front light is gone, and the other doesn't work. : (
It drives and brakes fine, but I have to be home before dark or I turn into a pumpkin. I got two estimates, both in the $4000 - $4500 range. As it's hard to find parts for these, and will become even more difficult in the future, I'm wondering if it's worth having the collision shop attempt to fix it - I was advised it could cost even more, depending on what damage might be found once they lifted the hood and looked inside. I would love to get another Civic wagon if it was available, but I don't see any posted for sale in my area. It seems that, as in this forum, most owners want to keep theirs just the same. I've almost decided to pursue getting a used CR-V, as it is the next best thing. But they're probably just as expensive to upkeep, aren't they, considering the larger tires and greater gas requirements?
Anyway, does anyone in this area know a place in the Puget Sound area where I might sell it for parts?

Hi,
no, and there are other options...
like stick around and see what happens...
no, i dont believe in fairy tales
and yes, welcome..
Maybe someone can help you get some parts from this.
Here are a couple of cars I found doing a quick Craigslist search.
Oddly enough, there seems to be quite a few Civic Wagons on CL right now.
1985 Civic Wagon with only 159K for 1100!!
^Looks immaculate and well taken care of.
1985 Wagon 171k $495
^Looks nasty but for $500 you could get just bout everything you need off of it and have some one install it or do it yourself. Even says it still runs lol.
1991 RT4WD Wagon for $1600
^Doesn't list miles or show a picture and says it's lowered.
2WD Wagon for $1200
^Says it needs a window and ignition, seems sketchy, but those would be cheaper then the 4500$ quote.
Hope this helps! I think that first '85 looks like the best deal of all!
I really can't believe the amount of wagons there are up on CL right now.
I even found myself a new front bumper while glancing around lol
I hope you find what your looking for.
After 5 posts on the forum you are allowed access to the market place.
Sometimes you can find Wagons for sale by members locally.
