I have looked forever for even a 195/45/15 and only nexxen or admiral tires make them. Admiral tires are a bargain brand in europe but are not sold in the usa so shipping is ungodly.
I have never seen a 195/40/ street usable tire. The only thing i have seen are summer only race tires. I have 5 cars with 15" or 16" wheels and they all run 195/50 series tires. Bridgestone potenza G009 on the GTI, fuzion zri (3 season ) on the crx, kumho ecsta AST on the helios, Michelin Pilot Sport II on the 318ti, and the civic wagon is yet to have its shoes changed to my Tom's Racing C3-R's i just picked up, most likely will run Kumho's because they are cheap and reasonably drivable.
Putting crazy strech on a 40 series would look awesome but i live in kansas so the potholes would kill my wheels.
Maybe someone else knows a company who makes em.
My only hint as to where to look, check out the companies that make tires for old aircooled VW's.
Those guys bag and stretch the tires on those to the extent that now companies make tires special for that purpose. (cant remember where i saw them, didnt save the link)
or check out www.stanceworks.com and see if any of the stanced car owners can tell you where to look.
