Newbie from France !

Hi !
First : sorry for my English. :D
I'm Maxime and I'm from France.
I bought a 1990 Shuttle 4wd two days ago ! I wanted one for a long time.
I'm a real Honda fan, my daily drive is an 1999 Accord Type R (CH1), my previous daily was a 1992 EG6, it was my daily for 8 years.
And I love Toyota to, I've got a nice "two-tones" AE86 HB... My never ending project !

Now I've got A LOT of work to do on my EE4, the car is VERY used. ^^
I'll post pictures in the "members rides" section.

Welcome to the site! I Think you're the first wagon here from France.
  • YES ! Civic Shuttles are a little rare in my country... And nobody look at them :D .
People here prefers the "Sports cars" in the Honda range, there is a lot of CRX, VTi (EG6 and EK4), ITR... Shuttles are considered as ugly cars :( , people has no interest in them, except ME !! :D

    THANKS FOR THE BOARD !!
  • Welcome to the site :D
  • Welcome!
I just joined from Wisconsin in the USA.
I'm curious, how much is gas in France?
    Congrats on the family!

  • Gas is very expensive here, it's TAXED A LOT !!
Prices change everydays, here you can buy SP95 (95 octan) or SP98 (98 octan), of course SP95 is a little cheaper. My Shuttle and my AE86 can run on SP95 or 98 but My Accord Type R run on 98 only (like some sports cars : BMW M3).
I put 95 in the Shuttle, 98 in the AE86 for little better performance.

The price change every day, today :
    Price for 1 liter :
    SP95 : 1,220€
    SP98 : 1.236€

    Conversions:

    1 Gallon = 3.79 Liters
    1 US$ = 0.68 €

    Price for 1 Gallon :
    SP95 : 6.809 US$
    SP98 : 6.897 US$

I pay about 70€ to fill the Tank of the ATR = 103 US$ (!!!)
    For the Shuttle about 55€ = 80 US$ (!!!)

Consequence: there is a lot of diesel powered cars here, the Diesel/Gazole is cheaper (less taxes) : 1 Liter = 0.990€
I remember, some months ago the price rised to 1.5€ per liter for the SP98... OUCH !
  • Impressive collection you have had especially the AE86.
I see some from the French guys on the UK CRX forum and I know you guys have it hard from the law on modifying if you listen to them
Still you are cheaper on petrol and diesel than the UK so think lucky!!
  • Yes, price of the gasoline in your country is impressive !
Here more than 80% of the price are taxes...
Here it's difficult to modify cars, because everything is "outlaw" from mufflers to coilovers  ... So I decided to live outlaw, LOL !
