motor build up vs vtec swap

I have a 91 wago fwd w/ a 5spd. it has a sohc 1.5 motor. i would like to know if its better to build up my current motor or do a vtec swap. i hope somebody can answer this question for me

    You could tickle the 1.5 and maybe hit 130HP if you're lucky or drop in a D16Z6 and start with 130HP and then tickle that.

    what is the d16z6, is that a sohc. this is my third civic(81,88, now a 91) but im not exactly sure what that is.

    D16Z6 is a 1.6L SOHC that will bolt up to your current transmission/bay.

    ya i would say either a z6 or a y8 find a healthy one and piece together a lil turbo kit it will smash on any stock b swap out there.
