Anyway, I'm not sure that making the neck longer is the way. I want to leave the tank up high (in its original spot) if possible. I'll either reroute it or just clearance the added subframe to fit.

i think leaving the tank in its stock location would be the safest spot since im sure that wagon will see fun times

looks like you have the 2 shapes pretty close should see welds soon enough....

Gas tank skid pan then no worries.

I may tack it in place tonight as I fine-tune the fit. There are so many facets to address, I need it to be still while I cut/fold/hammer it into submission.

It's GOING to happen. and the rear is the "easy" part!

I'd look into fabbing up some skid plates if this is strictly a body lift or that thing isn't going to get over much without snagging an axle or the pumpkin back there. Let me know if you're in need of anything Jeep. :)

Yeah, I'll try to protect it. It will have the same lift (or more :P ) as the other lifted guys on top of the body lift. The engine and driveline need to stay in the same orientation to the diff, the driveline has no slip-yoke.

Jeep stuff: I would like some tube bumpers and such. Watch the scratch-and-dent bin for me!

Got a little further along. Finished filleting the subframe to fit, and washed all the parts

    732.jpg

Of course, I had to spend an hour fixing the pressure washer. Damn Honda!

Here you can see the notch near the UCA crossmember, and the missing pocket for the toe compensator arm

    733.jpg

I think I solved the filler neck dilemma with a BFH

    734.jpg

And bolted the RTA pivot bushings in to preserve the spacing when welding

I'd have gotten further along, but I am entertained by my little buddies.

    736.jpg

They're busily putting on mass for the fall migration. I catch myself watching them instead of working. today I cleaned all the feeders and changed the nectar. Took a bunch of pics, but only 1 good one.

    738.jpg

Anne and I were standing together and actually HEARD two collide as one defended "his" feeder

A Hummingbird feeds a stem Gladiolus after a afternoon rain shower July 22, 2006 in Owings, Maryland. Hummingbirds are attracted to nectar-bearing flowers which they must feed on 3-5 times per hour.

Yes, but for the rear, upside down. I want something like a pushbar with headlight loops for the front.

It's hard to explain my concept, because it's evolving- think cutout fenders, rubber flares, snorkel, dual smokestacks, hood scoop, roof tent etc...

Here are 6 pages of our ''tube bumpers'' so may be accessories, but for the most part this is what we carry. If you wanna take a gander and shoot me some part numbers you're looking at I can see my employee cost and my scratch and dent cost on them.

Too busy, and don't think I need a winch, really. Looks cool and all, but heavy.
  • I dont know how I have missed this thread for so long?

You are a legend for doing this !
  • RevmaynardRevmaynard Council Member
If you went with a winch at all I'd only go with an ATV winch at most, those are good for 3500lbs.

I'll try to live up to that! I bought my Dad (who has forgotten more car stuff than I'll ever learn) a t-shirt that says " Local Legend. If you don't know who I am you're not from around here"

@Chip: by "busy" I mean there's too much visually going on with that bumper.
  • RevmaynardRevmaynard Council Member
Not to mention that bumper probably weighs close to 75lbs without the winch! lol

I think the 'prerunner' style bumper with skid-plate would look cool. Something like a cross between these two. The top for style, the bottom for scale.
