Yes Bam it will fit that's the block I'm building also ... I've been looking for one .. Since I will need to get the turbo oil lines welded n ...
Might b able to swing down a weekend or 2 n May and help ..
Well, I have the z6 shortblock built, waiting on the head. I have some issues:
I got the rt oil pan from turbo_teg, but when I test fit it, the pickup hits the floor of the sump...?? Do i need to use the pickup from a d15b2/d16a6?
What kind of header will fit? I don't mind modding one, I just don't even have a stock one to start with.
Do 1988 rt4wd trannies use the same(smaller) clutch like the '88 2wds?
Ok I read we need to use the rt oil tube...
to work with the oil pan ...
RagenAsian did the header mod ... Look n his thread for what header he used .. Sorry I'm on my Blackberry not much multitasking on it lmao ....
As far as clutch stuff .... I know 88 is different and 89-91 is the same but not sure if its 2wd and 4wd specific .... Sorry .. Something to do with counting teeth n the spline ...
Yeah, I know about the spline thing, just wasn't sure if it applied to rt's. I see that the tranny from my '89 has the single groove on the pilot shaft, that's what got me thinking.
I'm still working on it! Big day at the junkyard today, I found a mostly complete '88 RT.
Now this job is going in true bam style: I have 4 trannies, 3 shifters with cables, 2 sets of mounts, 3 half-shafts, 2 drivelines, 2 diffs, etc... I like spares.
Here's yesterday's haul in the back of TerminusVox' wag.
I got the transmission, shifter/cables, all the mounts and brackets. Intermediate shaft. Oil pan and dust shield. Full driveline. Speedo cable. Some DIN radio bezels. The full MPFI manifold with all sensors, throttle body, injectors, fuel line, the works. Complete engine harness, unmolested, including resistor box. Exhaust collector flanges.etc...
I'll go back and get the pedal assembly and clutch cable, I ran up against closing time.

what about? spare tire junk holder insert? Mud Flaps? rack? AWD wheels? Black Lugs?
Speaking of RT wheels: Did '88s come with them? Seems like I see a lot of them with regular steelies.
