Hey HCW.com
I was trolling craigslist locally and came across a guy selling an automatic R/T 4wd for 500$ Way out in kansas from me.
He was convinced that the motor was "done" saying it had a bad headgasket (i guess some ppl dont believe you can replace the gasket on a d16a6, i have done it on several with no problems.)
After much talking and driving down to view the car i said "the best i can offer is 250 without knowing if the trans works"
Because he knew nothing about cars and because he lives in topeka but the car was an hour away, and because craigslist ppl kept standing him up, he decided to take my offer.
I bought some gaskets and drove down, tools in my 89 dodge raider, and replaced the headgasket in 8 hours.
Drove it home the next day with no problems.
I am a car addict this new wagon is my 6th import.
I also own a '87 gti 8v, '89 jetta helios 16v, '97 bmw 318ti with roots, 89 crx si grounddesigns 2000 black widow, and a '89 v6 dodge raider(2 door mitsubishi montero)
Im 31 yrs old; born, raised, and still live in kansas.
For a living i sew automotive interiors and do some other menial graphics and archetectural design.
Never knew a honda 4wd existed until that day on craigslist and now i own one.
Coming from mk2 vw's all last year looks like this year is going to be an easy one.
(for example the helios had vw abs, so archaic that when it fails you have no booster, it took replacing literally everything all lines, booster, master cyl, hoses, calipers, everything!
Im glad to have found a forum to read about my new toy.
I've already fixed several things reading these threads; Now let me at the parts section!
I need palmy grey rear strut tower trim caps!!!
lil beat up but not bad for my only automatic

I have to let a friend borrow this car for a week coming up. but after i get it back i plan sew new covers for the full interior.
So i will probably have that drivers seat bottom just sitting if you do actually want it XD.
The bolster on the seat back is totally destroyed but the seat bottom seems fine
Totally, just lmk. I'll make sure to check back one your thread. Ill see how my money situation is. My driver seat bottom is totally destroyed with the normal "driver side tear"
Welcome to the fun!
If you do make replacement covers, make a pattern. I, for one, will buy a set from you. Can you match the OE fabric? (Grey for me )
It was a very odd deal in the end because none of our cell phones work at all in that area of kansas and that guy uses his sisters email apparently. only t mobile has a tower so i couldn't get ahold of him and had to drive 2 hours hoping he would be there. to my amazement he was there when i got there.
Thanks for the replies and Thank you for allowing me into the marketplace section.
I will definately make patterns when i make my new covers that could be my best contribution here i think.
All RT4WD are 6-spd, it just has a super low first gear.
can you get us some close-ups
