    *sigh*

whats with these europeans  you guys should be mad in love with the USDM tails. they are *special* with the extra red lense

car looks good either way. though i dont think the bullbar looks to great with the bitty rims.
  • I don't think the bullbar looks good on there with the tiny tires either but I was just mounting the tires to see if they were going to work. The 13's have been removed already.

if the 13's had more rubber though i think it would look pretty sweet... but that would prolly kill the intent...? idk. maybe you just need to get rid of your nuisance of a bullbar, you know my address ;) hehe jusss kiddin' mangg

    Nice shot.
  • Well since I had bought the turbo kit I decided that the wagon's engine needed freshening up. So instead of ripping the motor out and my wife not be able to drive the car I decided to pick up a new heart. This motor came from my white wagon that I stripped last year. I sold it for 150 bucks to some kids who didn't know what they were doing. I ended up buying it back for 35 bucks missing a few parts. Decided instead of freshening it up, this motor will get a COMPLETE rebuild. The motor was pulled with 190,000 kms.

So the rebuild begins. Will try and update as I go along.

190K km is like nothing d00d, thats like 115K miles 8)

cant wait to see the progress.
  • Well the wife's wagon JUST hit 150,000 km. I might go ahead and freshen it up when it gets pulled and replaced too. We will see.

damn those low-mileaged european cars 8)
  • I know everybody has seen a motor torn down but oh well my thread

looks about the size of a sewing machine.

wait, thats what i have for an engine... crap.

damn that thing is nasty. my LS looked about like that before i started tearing it down.
  • Im in the middle of my rebuild on my D16A6 for my wagon.

Waiting for the Machine shop to tell me if I need to bore, or if a hone will do me. I think Im getting away with a hone on this one. Head is already back together, just need a freaking block to bolt it too!

    Good luck!
  • Yeah it sure is nasty. I should have pressured washed it first but didn't feel like getting oil all over my yard or having the locals pissed off I was cleaning a motor in a car wash  .

Everything was starting to leak on this motor. I was given 150 for the motor and bought it back for 35, I can't complain. Everything looks good on it still though. No damage to any of the components so all should be good.
  • I bought a cheap dishwasher and keep it in the garage. Very handy.

Not bad getting it back for $35. Smart idea to built that motor instead of pullin the other motor out and having down time on your wagon. Cant wait to see it done. Good Luck.
  • Down time on the wife's wagon means she gets the picking of the other cars and she always goes for the S13. Better she get to keep driving her wagon

Just in case when the motor gets replaced it will get a freshening up, covered and stored. Never know what happens down the road and since it only has 150,000 kms it probably just needs a few things.

As soon as Im doing any work to my Legend, which the wife drives daily, she wants to take my hatchback to her work. Forget it, she drives the wagon (which now has a leaking gas tank, will it ever end?).
  • Finally some parts are starting to roll in.

    Rings
    thrust washers
    bearings
    pistons (standard)
    timing belt
    water pump
    full gasket set
    half size aluminum radiator
    Omori Water temp gauge

    136.jpg

Still waiting on the Racing timing belt, new clutch

I picked up a set of 87 CRX Jdm seats, and a set of Rx7 seats. Thinking about throwing a set of either one in the wagon for more support.

    137.jpg

Picked up a set of 92-95 VTI Civic (yes we got the 160hp vtec civic)wheels since I was getting sick of looking. Just bought the first set of wheels I saw that were decent. These are only to give me some more time to find some better wheels.

    138.jpg

Head is getting sent out to get the valves polished, head decked and cleaned. Block is getting sent in for deglazing, cleaning, and hopefully it won't need anything else.

Nice! Good luck on the built. Those wheels are Hot! Gunmetal?

    x2
  • Not really sure of the color. I couldn't figure out the color in German. Again they are strictly temporary

These stock VTI wheels still pull a pretty good penny over here though. You see the 160hp Civics here but not enough to make these wheels cheaper. Doesn't matter, at least for a little while this summer the wagon will have some new shoes.

Hopefully by the end of the summer the car will be running, new wheels, and a little surprise if I can pull it off. Thatdoodle has accepted some parts on my behalf so he knows what I plan on trying to pull off. We will see.
  • nice wheels 8)

those OEM vti wheels are hard to find in Belgium too (in good condition) and if you find some they are expensive. I got lucky with my 6th gen vti wheels.

anyways good luck with the rest of the build, I'll be checking back on regular basis.
