Thank you all for the kind words.
Finally got some money together for some new rubber. Tires going on this week.
I tried rolling the oem wheels with original spec tires..omfg I feel like an old man driving the car looking like this! lol
you wouldn't happen to remember what model and year volkswagon your rear lip came from would you jesse?
Rear lip is not VW. It's Volvo.
Not sure what year. Sure it's 90's. Just look for those old Volvo station wagons. I think that's the model it came from.

did you grab it from the rear or the front of the volvo?
clean wagon. I like the factory fogs. do you have any specs on the fogs. I want get a set but not sure where to cut the bumpers. any measurements or pointing me in the right direction would be nice.
Ever get one of those crazy idea days when you walk into a salvage yard?
I was walking around looking for a cargo cover out of an Explorer, SUV, etc and I was looking inside of a Jeep Cherokee and saw this really cool headliner console. I was able to take it out and press it up against the wagon headliner and sure enough it matches pretty damn close! The color also matches!(light gray)
This is going to be my next mod! I wonder what I can do to get the gizmo readings to work too!
It has dual tap maplights for front and rear and has storage bins for misc items and sunglasses. I am stoked! While I am at it I may reupholster my headliner.
Did some more research and found that these headliner consoles came in the Dodge Mini vans without the compass and temp readings so I may go and look for one.
yeah thats the one- i think he may have went a little overboard, but the finished product is awesome- there has got to be and easier way than the way he went about it....
Definitely. I am getting with my friend who re-upholstered his headliner. Gonna get his help first. It's not very heavy at all. The rear portion of the console has sort of a built in clip to hold it. So in theory a simple slit in the headliner would suffice.
But my headliner is dried up badly and a nice pattern would be awesome. Not sure what to go with.
Oh, and I also saw a nice pair of Honda Passport speaker pods. Those things look beefy! I started to take them off but OMFG the heat was insane..I may go back for them later. Anyone used these before in a wagon?
Got alot of "to do" things on my list. I just checked out for vacation this week so hopefully I can get some stuff done to the wagon that I've been putting off for a while.
I got my Daisy Blinds in today! I am gonna do a complete contents layout and install thread soon.
Yep.
The guy who was selling them on Yahoo auctions stopped selling them.
I have a friend who works in Japan, and I asked him to bid on the last set he had and he got outbid.
So, I took a chance and asked my friend to PM the seller and ask if he knew where to find more.
Supposedly it's bad etiquette to contact a seller directly to ask questions like this but it worked out. The seller referred my friend to a local shop that had a few left. He bought the last 3.
Had he found a supplier I would have set up a group buy, but my bud told me that the shop is no longer gonna stock these. They were marked down to $25, but normally sell for quite a bit more. So I lucked out. He's gonna keep a lookout to see if he can find another supplier when he has time. I told him if he finds one he can easily sell these for a pretty nice mark up and make a nice profit but he simply doesn't have the time to invest in such a venture.
Shipping alone was $75, and I just about crapped my pants because these things don't even weight that much.
Gonna install it over the weekend. The other is going to my buddy, Jay(91awd) and I am keeping one as a backup.
You have to mod them slightly too fit. The metal rail you screw onto the blind support rail needs to be shortened with a hacksaw. Once you have it all together and can see where it sits it becomes pretty obvious.

You Sir, are correct! A winner is you!
When I was putting them together I was like "wtf!? How is this gonna work!?"
Had no choice but to use a cutting tool. But yeah, it worked like a charm. Fit nice n snug and those things aren't going anywhere. Totally changes the way the car looks from the outside in.

Quite a history to that nickname btw. I'll tell ya about it sometime.
When are you gonna get a Wagon, Rob?
Gonna pick up some Innovative steel mounts for the RT4WD soon. Can't wait to give a review on them.
