Do you plan on wiring speakers into the door spots for an in-camper stereo once you got with the battery/converter setup?
Well, there is one other concern about towing: I like to spend a lot of time in the Mountains, biking. Many of the good spots require traveling many miles of USFS dirt roads. Since the car is front-wheel-drive and heavily loaded on the tongue I might have a problem starting off on or climbing some of the steep, rutted pitches. I'm going to put DA struts and springs on to raise the rear a bit.
Let me ease your concerns about towing your trailer with your fwd. I'll fix up my rt4wd, slap on a hitch and I'll tow that bad boy for ya!
Very nice work yet again bam-bam! I like your style and thinking! As I've said either in this thread or another,i gotta learn how to weld!
This build is awesome. I have to say this is one of the most original ideas I have seen. My friend is trying to the same thing for a EG hatchback that was cut in half by a local shop and given to him. I'll show him pics of your project as he has no idea where to begin. Your fabrication skills are top notch and good luck with your project.
FYI Bam the most buzz I hear about IA 09 was that wagon trailer. You my friend made a huge impression and everyone seemed to love it! Your skills and dedication are well respect>
Thanks all for the kind words. I guess it did get some attention seems like every set of pics I see includes some wagon shots, including the trailer.
Funny story about that: Two guys that came over yesterday to get some parts had seen the camper online and heard about it, but had no idea that it was mine. They were genuinely surprised, and then later when BabyJ came over it turns out he already knew Hoss. It's a small world after all...
Very Very cool... I have done similar with the 1st gen wagon.. but it just didn't look right.. so I took the roof off have you thought about going suicide on the rear doors and incorporating a b pillar into it? It would look damn sweet with it all opened up!

I've had it up to 100 just to check handling. Averaged about 75 to and from Import Alliance. With the LS tranny I would have to downshift into 4th if i dropped below 70 on an uphill.
this thing is awesome. i love how you did it all yourself. ive got a suggestion for you, just a thought since it is a camper and you and your wife might enjoy some privacy. the vip guys have sliding curtains, you could put up on your windows, they slide open and shut on tracks. you could use the rear curtain on your windshield. so how much you charging to make these???

Privacy is really pretty good with the 5% tint- I'll look into the curtains, too.
We used the camper this weekend at the Fool's Gold MTB race at Camp Wahsega, GA
Slept in it both nights, and then it was pressed into duty as a cargo hauler
The promoters are friends who live close by us, so we helped haul all the stuff back 90 miles to town.
Surprisingly, we got 21.5 MPG, even this heavily laden (Import Alliance trip average was 19.7). I'm feeling pretty confident about the 10 hour Labor day trip to Arkansas 8)
Is that a Magura Durin SL on the front of that hardtail? Is it yours? How do you like it? I've been this close to buying a 100 SL for my Yeti ASR carbon for the last 6 months. I ended up getting one of the 2009 Lefty Speed Carbon SL's with the Solo Air technology. I haven't had a trial ride with it yet, but so far so good.
It is a Magura, it's not mine. It belongs to my friend Namrita. We were volunteering at the race- I ain't got a hundy in me these days. Not offroad anyway
