New guy from Ohio - Update PICS ADDED

Hey Everybody,
I don't actually own one yet but if all goes well I'll be buying one in two weeks. My wife and I already have one child and are trying for baby number two so a civic wagon will be the perfect fit. I've been lurking for awhile now, the board seems real informative and friendly.

Thanks
Dan

    welcome to the forum!
  • Picked one up yesterday. Paid $800 for it. It needs some work but a great car for the price. It also has a B18 LS swap. Can't wait to start giving it the much needed TLC.
  • Looks good! What are the plans for her....
  • Short term plans are to get her cleaned up and reliable. Theres a fair amount of rust I need to address. I also would like to get a roof rack and bike hitch for it. Down the road I wanna drop it on some nice wheels.

I'm either going to snag the wheels off my miata or use the miata 16s on the floor or the used 16x7.5 tsw imolas I just bought for $75.

    Sorry for the huge pics.

    Thanks

Yep! They're from raceland. Cost me $239 shipped. I actually did some research and from what i could tell people who actually own them were happy. I'm not looking to build a race car just want something low. :P

Thanks guys. As soon as I get some front strut mounts they're going on the car!

    Thanks! :D
Finally got the coilovers and ETHs on. Raceland either sold me coilovers for an EG or they have a poorly designed product  .It was a pain but I'm happy with the results. If any of you guys have questions about the coilover set up feel free to ask. Even with all the hassle I think they're worth the $239 asking price.

  • Can you kinda of walk us through the problems you had installing the coils? I'd like to get a comfy, affordable coilover for mine soon.

Couldn't use my EF forks, had to buy Eg front forks. Bolts supplied for the rear were too large for my rear LCA, had to buy bolts/nuts from hardware store. Rear springs packed with front shocks and vice versa. Didn't realize it till installed on the car. Dumb stuff. The EG forks only cost me $20 and the bolts/nuts/washers were $5 so it wasn't a huge expense to make them work, just pissed me off.
I will say when I emailed the company they offered me a full refund if I shipped them back. Also I should note I used forks off a del sol and they were the same height as my EF forks. Not taller like I had heard.
    Hope that helps

  • <3 it, what if you rusted the entire ride like bobwago's?
  • Stance looks good, thanks for all the info on the install. It's a huge help!

They are Racelands, right? <---- nvrm, see it above.
Do you like the ride? Is it too bouncy? Stiff?

I do like the ride. I'll get some bouncing on the larger bumps but it's not bad. On most of the roads around me it rides very close to stock. The spring rates are low so the ride is not stiff at all. I have extended top hats on the rear and I'm thinking of getting some for the front as well. I think that will get rid of the bounce entirely. The ETHs I bought were ordered off ebay as well. Only paid $60 for the pair.
