Wagon Front Hood Measurements

For those of you interested in possibly making a carbon fiber hood, the wagon hood measurements are:

54 1/2' across the top
from the top to the front of the hood, 37'
and from the very front part of the hood which is the small edge area is 28 1/2'.

as we all know by now, none of the EF 88-91 hoods will fit onto our wagons and vice versa..we are alone in this.

it has to be custom made.

But these hoods are so small/light anyway...why go CF?

Every little bit of weight loss helps.. Most people just want carbon for bling though.

Yup - I can see if it calls for replacing, might as well 'upgrade'. But most of the CF made ones out there will be heavier than stock.

It wont have the same crumple effect, changing your cars crash characteristics. Its the same with any modified exterior part.

If i had the chance at getting a proper carbon fibre bonnet - skeleton and all, then i'd do it. :D
But at that point the car won't be on the road..

:? Not true for the gen4 Wagons.I think It's in the order of 25-50lbs(30-60 kilos). It's NOT a trifle amount like on the EP Civic.

    25 pounds = 11.3398093 kilograms

I weigh 60kg, the bonnet is nowhere near that... I'd say 5-10kg max, which would coincide with about 25~ pounds.

Just wanted to follow-up that I am used to my 87 hood. Much smaller than the 88-91 and wouldn't be worth getting a CF hood in my mind because the damn thing has got to weigh 20 lbs. The 88-91 though, I could see some weight savings there.
