intermediate shaft question on RT4WD

ill be picking up a RT4WD wagon soon, and i want to put a y7 in it...
i know the a6 motor has an intermediate shaft (like a bseries) that bolts to the block

question:

can i use regular (non intermediate shaft) axles on a RT4WD chassis without issues?

or visa versa

the y7 has 40k on it, 4 100 bucks.... idk, low miles, no oil burnage...y not?!
  • i think a one pice will hit center diff.

Unless you're planning to change to a2WD.I'd recommend u keep the intermediate shaft .It's the better handling choice, which is y the ZC had it.The Y7 will probably have pre-drilled holes for the Int.shaft.You'll need to tap the 3 holes.B careful NOT to punch a Hole into the block.

thanks, thats the type of answer I was lookign for, if a one peice would hit anything, the handling issue doesnt really bother me...

well my two cents is its cheap but it would be a bad idea that axle is interchangeable with a integra without abs so maybe you can pick one of them ...

wait, a 1st gen tegi? or a b series teggi?

cause i have b series axles and shafts laying around
  • sic944tsic944t Wagonist
yes check the b series i needed an axle for mine and they acidentally gave me a teg one with abs sensor ring thing and my buddy said it would fit and it looked like it would fit but you need one without the ABS cause the hubs are different but the spline is the same this is not a fact i dont wanna send you on a wild goose chase but it may work .... i just got pissed at that point and got a new boot and repacked the old one ....

do it man, all you gotta do is tap the threads into the block before you swap it. it'll be sweet. check my website, I think i had some pictures of those holes.
