Hey guys,
I just picked up my first Wagovan this past weekend, a 1987 2WD. I had to do some car swapping to get it, but came out pretty good on the deal.
I've recently put it on my old CRX swirlies and it gave it a little more personality.
Anyway, I've been doing a lot of searching, and some lurking here to get as much info as possible on this thing and to get some options. I'd like to get this thing swapped to EFI as soon as possible. Has anyone ever done this? Anyone have a list of what is all needed?
My buddy has a 95 Civic DX that he will be converting so I will have all his old stuff (wire harness, ECU, etc.). Am I able to use this on my Wagovan? Any info on what is all needed? Links will be helpful as well.
I hated to ask the question as it is pretty broad, but I have really had no luck searching. I just want this van to be reliable and to have something under the hood that I'd have a little more knowledge working on.
Thanks!
Justin

As to what those electrical modifications are... I have no idea for your gen of wagon but im sure one of the guys on here will be able to help you out, no worries!
Another worry I have is that I may be moving to California soon and I hear that the ZC engine is illegal. Bah!
You have four options for fuel injection...easy to hard
1. Vaccum advance fuel injection - the same setup you would find in 85-87 Si and 86-87 Integras. The fuel injection is ecu controlled but the distributor advance is old school vacuum. Nearly nothing available for custom tuning.
2. Electronic advance fuel injection - the same setup for the 88-91 CRX and 88-89 Integra. Often referred to as obd-0. I've played a peripheral role in a 86 CRX Si conversion from vac to elec advance. A LOT of work. So if it takes x amount of work to do a vacuum advance fuel injection, its easily triple that for electronic advance. It does have a few tuning options available.
3. Taking number 2 one step further and going to obd-1. This offers a bajillion options for tuning. Its not a whole lot more work than number 2 either, just a little more expensive.
4. Stand alone, custom fuel injection. Usually takes lots of tuning/datalogging to get it runnning right but it offers maximum tuning flexibility.
